The bass drum

The bass drum has been painted with white base paint and sanded with 240-grit. I've drawn these guidelines for the masking tape so it'll be easier to get a straight edge.

This is one way to get those lines straight. I used a soft pencil and a piece of sanding paper.

Next I'll apply masking tape. I'll make sure it won't mask any of the pencil lines, so they will all get covered by the black paint.
